E17 in a box

If you are in search of another next generation window manager, I'd say Enlightenment (E17) is suitable for you (http://www.enlightenment.org). It is currently in a pre-alpha stage and is under heavy development. Its default theme has clean and simple graphical user interface but it's very rich. You can get some of supported themes here at http://www3.get-e.org/Themes/E17/.

It has virtual desktop that you can customize as you like. Each of its can have its own background. Although you can use an animated background in a virtual desktop, it is very fast and light. Well, its depends on animated backgrounds and your cpu >:D.

Here some of animated background that supported in E17. http://www3.get-e.org/Backgrounds/Animated/. So, if you are willing to use E17 in your box, you can get the snapshot of releases here at http://enlightenment.freedesktop.org/.
